Lesson Learned

I think I've learned an important "mommy lesson" today. You may remember from this post how Ruthie's meal times tend to go. She likes to drop the majority of her food on the floor next to her chair. Well, today I gaver her just a few pieces of food at a time, and you can see the difference in this photo:

There is considerably less food on the floor, although there are still plenty of bits left on her tray. And I think she ended up eating a lot more of her lunch today! So, hopefully this will continue, and is not just a fluke! I should note that when I took her out of the chair I found two little piles of chewed up watermellon on either side of her chair...at least that is easier to clean up than the floor!
Oh, and you may notice the other "mommy lesson" I have learned--a bare tummy is much easier to clean than any shirt or bib!

Dance It Up!

Every time this fish plays its tunes, Ruthie stops what she's doing and waves her arms or bounces up and down. She loves music!

I'm a Fish!

Here is a highlight from the swimming class that I go to every Monday with Josiah. I love the water, as long as I'm not on my back. Mom hasn't worked up the nerve to dunk me under yet...maybe at the last class...

Photo Challenge Ad

This week's challenge is to do a setup to specifically "sell a product"- this can be anything, really, for example : hat, shoes, cat food, soap- anything. The challenge is to do this with a friend, relative, or pet as your model.
Submit 3 photos- and let us know which is your favorite.
These may be b/w, color, or anything in between.
Editing is allowed.

As you can see, I used Ruthie as my model, and Target brand Diapers as my product :)
My favorite shot of the three is the top one.

9 month checkup

I meant to include Ruthie's stats in the last post. She had her latest checkup exactly 2 weeks ago. At that time she weighed in at 20 lb. 12 oz., and measured 28.5 inches (I think...). That puts her at the 75th percentile for both! Praise God for such a healthy baby girl!! :)

Ruthie: "I can't believe you just told the world how much I weigh!--How embarassing!"

Ruthie's Path of Destruction

Now that Ruthie is incredible mobile, she never wants to stop moving (although that's not really new...) unless she finds something to eat, tear apart, take out of something else, shake, hit together, or throw across the room. Here are some shots of her path of destruction. And a video including her bully-like play habits (sorry Jman!).

Standing, talking, playing

Check out the tongue curl--I don't know how she does that!

VIDEO CAMERA

Guess what! Mom and Dad got a new video camera--so I can show you what I've been up to lately. (If they ever have time to help me upload the videos...) Here's a good one of me playing with mommy.

July Already!!

Hello Everyone!
A lot has happened in the month of June, and the beginning of July. I perfected my crawling technique. I am super-fast and can climb on just about anything! I have started (cautiously) cruising along the furniture. I had my first swimming class, and loved it (after the first 5 minutes or so). I turned 9 months old on June 30--now I've spent half my life outside Mommy's belly! Daddy had a birthday on July 2 (he is 312 months old now--boy that's old!). On Dad's birthday, my first tooth poked through! I experienced my first parades on July 4, and also pet a doggy that day. Those parades sure were interesting!
Here's some pictures (and video!) of some of these milestones. Enjoy!
